Florida LLC Owners - Fake Filing Notices and where to actually file your annual report

It’s that time of the year again when Florida LLC annual reports are starting to be due/filed. There has been a massive uptick in spam/third party vendors recently emailing Florida LLC owners to “File Urgently” or recommend filing with them. These third parties are not government agencies, but are third parties up charging for a service. Currently, Florida LLC’s annual reports are due May 1st, 2026.

You are able to go directly to the State’s website and file there:

https://dos.fl.gov/sunbiz/manage-business/efile/annual-report/

Below is the home page, where you can file the annual report directly, for no upcharge.

To file the report, you will need your Document Number, which can be found on Sunbiz by searching your LLC’s name.

Below is an example of what the filing will look like, once you input your document number:

You will simply go through all the information that is listed regarding your LLC, and confirm if anything has changed. *This is where you will be able to make some edits, instead of formally filing an amendment. Once fully reviewed and confirmed, you will simply click “Submit” and pay the $138.75 fee. The $138.75 fee is an annual renewal fee and you will pay that each year you have your LLC open in the State of Florida.

Below are some examples of the spam/third parties/vendors emailing or sending mail trying to get you to use their services. I would recommend against these, as the renewal takes about 10 minutes of your time.
